This Short film is based on the true events of January 23, 2005 – where six Firefighters became trapped in a tenement in the Bronx and were forced to jump out of fourth-story windows – otherwise known as “Black Sunday”.
Co-written and Directed by Evan Ari Kelman, this film takes you on one man’s journey to regain the normalcy he had before that tragic day.
Andrew (Tom Lipinski ) is the Firefighter who survived. He wants to come back to the job. The film explains that he is medically ready to return to duty – but the depth and intensity of Lipinski’s performance – indicates otherwise. He reveals an internal struggle much greater – and not quite resolved. His sense of duty and love for the job is met with the ghosts that still haunt him from that dark day. Is he ready – not just for himself – but for his fellow firefighters.
