Written, Directed and Edited by Cris Graves, BOZONOVA is a bawdy comedy about a professional clown gigolo who sets out to exact his revenge on his former apprentice and nemesis.
This Award Winning short film, with Cinematography by Miles Rasmussen, opens up with a lesson on the word Coulrophilia – a sexual attraction to clowns.
The film takes that meaning and runs with it in this witty story about Joe (Joel Stoffer) who is in search of a replacement clown for his ‘business’.
The opening of the film sets its tone with a Western score (Alec Puro). A vintage diner is where Joe meets Cash (Christopher Judge) – a good looking young man eager to be a clown. He confirms to Joe that he loves ‘Moms’ – which makes him perfect for the job.
In a scene that celebrates true Western style movies – we meet Tommy (James Magedman) – and the showdown begins.
The kid’s birthday party is fabulous. Strong performances between Mrs. Johnson (Adria Dawn) and Joe (Stoffer) – filled with Double Entendre moments that work beautifully.
BOZONOVA gives the audience a new perspective on what clowns can mean to children – AND adults.
