16MINS

16MINS is a visually stunning Sci-Fi film about two lovers who race against time and element to secure enough Penicillin to save a life.

This Award Winning Short Film, Written by Phil Clarke Jr. and Directed by Stephane Verzi, captivates with stunning visuals (Corey Snyder) and music/score (Anthony Espina).

Rapid gun fire is heard in the background as Steve and Lizzie are trying to escape – from whatever or whoever – is chasing them.

Jim Thalman (Steve) gives a powerful performance as a man who is running out of time.  His sense of urgency and commitment to duty is palpable.  The uncertain moments that lie before him are gripping.  He sheds his soldier armor in two poignant scenes.  Speaking with Lizzie (Christiane Seidel) through a cage door and silently asking her to deliver his wish.  The scenes are raw and visceral.

Seidel gives a commanding performance as Lizzie.  Her inner turmoil is real.  She reveals both a strength and vulnerability for her character.

Snyder gives this film its soul with beautiful and edgy Cinematography that makes you feel every moment.

Location and set design are spot on.  The use of lighting, shading and coloring adds a spectacular layer to the film.

This film doesn’t give much story away – which makes for an interesting ride for the audience.

The bar is set high…and this artistic collaboration leaves you wanting more.
