CHRIS ESPER
“TAKE2 INDIE REVIEW SITS DOWN WITH DIRECTOR – CHRIS ESPER …” – I was born and raised in New Jersey. I had grown up in Bayonne. When I was 14 years old, my family and I moved to Rhode Island, where we had family on my father’s side. I ended up going to high school and college there. Currently, I reside in Massachusetts.

Yesteryear
With only a home movie projector, Director Chris Esper takes his audience back in time with his short documentary, YESTERYEAR.

Farewell Waltz
Set in pre-WWII England, FAREWELL WALTZ is a beautiful and poetic piece of storytelling given to us by Writer/Director Kaine Levy. Levy pays tribute to the style of films from Hollywood’s Golden Age – with his short film about socially forbidden love.

HELLO, MY SWEET BOY
Written and Directed by Raphael Dirani, HELLO, MY SWEET BOY taps into the bittersweet journey of a son who has a parent suffereing with dementia. The film also taps into the son’s bisexuality and how hard it is for him to come out to his mother – after dating a man for seven years.

EVERYTHING IS UPSTREAM
Part animation and part documentary, Martin Ponferrada’s Award Winning Short Film EVERYTHING IS UPSTREAM, is a visually stunning piece of artistic storytelling – in only ten minutes. Ponferrada takes us into the dreams of Buddhist monks from around the world. Vivid descriptions of their dreams are captured in meticulous detail through the beauty of rotoscope.

LIKE ANIMALS
LIKE ANIMALS is a visually stunning film which opens with a haunting score in a neighborhood lackluster of life. The non-color palette and neutral tones define a monotone way of living that reflects the lives of the characters that call this home. The score creates a foreboding pulse to the film that carries the story in a haunting rhythm.

THE STAND UP DOLL
HE STAND UP DOLL is a beautiful and poignant documentary about the 100 year life journey of Risa Ingelfeld told by Director Evelyne Tollman Werzowa.

WHITE FEATHER
Written and Directed by Daniel Arbon, WHITE FEATHER is based on the true story of Arbon’s great-grandfather.

BUMMER
It’s hard to imagine a powerful message in just 13 minutes, but that’s exactly what Barry Worthington (Writer, Director and Editor) set out to do – and accomplished – in BUMMER.
